I am still unable to download any pictures or videos on to my blog, but I figured I wouldn't let that hold me back from posting. You will just have to use your imagination :)
Nola and I have settled in to a wonderful new morning routine. As all mothers know, baby's routine can change as quickly as their outfit, and I am really enjoying the grove we are in. She has been waking up around 6:00am (not my favorite part of this routine). First, we snuggle for a bit and then play in the mirror. Nola loves to look at her self in the mirror. She gets a huge grin, lets out a shriek of excitement, then digs her head into my chest only to look back in the mirror and do it all over again.
Nola is now sitting up all on her own, so she has some time to sit and play with her toys. Her favorite toys at the moment are her new bath toys - a little crab, a turtle, a dolphin and an octopus - the rolling ball G.G. bought her and, as always, her pink teething toy.
After some alone play time, Nola has some breakfast! Usually apples or blueberries. I must admit, I love feeding her solids! It can be very trying, but it's so fun to see her eye up the spoon and open wide for a big bite! After her fruit, she munches on a baby mum-mum while we listen to music and I clean the kitchen. I dance and sing along with the music and Nola loves it! I am so glad she loves when I sing :) She smiles, shrieks and bangs her sippy cup along with the beat.
When the kitchen is clean, she plays in her exersaucer in the living room while I read my scriptures. Then, she has a bottle and goes down for her morning nap.
That's our mornings, for now anyways. I love being Nola's mom!

Family photo shoot!!
Yesterday, we went to Henderson Lake for a family photo shoot! We were so fortunate that yesterday was a beautiful, sunny day! Doug and I contemplated whether or not we should get some photos done, as he is back to school and we are on a tight budget. However, we worked it out and are SO pleased with the results!!
I need to send a HUGE shout out to Joanne from Living Soul Photography http://www.wix.com/livingsoul/photography
Not only did she do an amazing job, she was so much fun!!
PS She is having a "sale" - if you book by Oct 30th, its only $60!
Here is a little sneak peak! Enjoy!

6 months old!
Can you believe it? Yesterday, little Nola Mae turned 6 months old! Its crazy how fast time has gone by!
We took her to the doctor today and she is now a whopping 14 lbs 8 oz! Ok, so she may not be 'whopping' but she is getting bigger and bigger!
We love our Nola Mae!

Syllables!
I have been trying to get a video of this since Tuesday, and it has finally happened!
Nola is starting to use syllables!! She will say "Eye, eye, eye", "Duh, duh, duh" and "Mum, Mum, Mum" How exciting!!
Here is a video if her "talking"! (I know she is crying, it was just the only time I've caught it on camera )
Enjoy!

Yum yum!
Oh, how time flies!
Yesterday, August 22, I fed Nola rice cereal for the first time! How exciting! Its amazing how much she is growing and progressing - I love it! I have been so fortunate to be able to enjoy every little moment with her and not to wish she'd stop growing up. Sometimes, I feel like the only mom who loves seeing my girl grow. I do not feel sad at her progress - not one bit. Of course, the new-born stage was fun, but I don't necessarily miss it. I enjoyed every minute of that, now I am going to enjoy every minute of this! I want to enjoy each stage with all my heart - no looking back, no wishing, no regrets.
I am doing what Garth Algar has so wisely taught,
"Live in the now!"
Back to the cereal. Haha, she didn't know what to think! When I first put it in her mouth, she chomped down and then gave me this look like "What the?" After a few bites she got used to the texture and then she started focusing on the spoon. As mentioned many times before, Nola loves to suck, gnaw, and chew on anything and everything she can get her little hands on, and the spoon was no exception. She was more interested in the spoon than the cereal, but it was still fun!
After she ate, we went for a walk and she looked so full and tired. It was hilarious!
Here are some pictures!
Grow baby grow!!
I am not that smart. Half way through the feeding, I realized I hadn't put a bib on her. Good thing she was going to have a bath shortly after!
Yum yum!!
Baha! I love this picture! She didn't know what to think!
Its good for you baby, I promise!
I can do it myself! I am a big girl!!
Feeding in action!
