Silly Baby!

So there has been alot going on with us and the baby, and I figured that using the blog to get that info out to you guys may be the best way to keep you all informed.

On Friday, Feb 26, (36 weeks gestation) I had a routine doctors appointment. The doctor checked to see what position the baby was in, and he was a little confused so he did and internal exam and thought the baby was breech (feet first). As many of you may know, doctors don't like to have women birth breech babies, they prefer to deliver the baby via c-section. As you could imagine, we do not want to have a c-section, so we set an appointment to have an ulrasound to see what position the baby was in for sure. The doctor told us that if the baby is breech, he could try to flip by external rotation. Also, the doctor said that I am dialating, which is very exciting!

On Monday, March 1, we had our ultrasound and indeed, little one is a complete breech. The doctor used a portable ultra-sound machine at the hospital, and he discovered that baby's umbilical cord was close to its head. Unfortuntley, the ultrasound machine was no very detailed, so he couldnt see the position of the umbilical cord exactly - however he suspects its wrapped around the baby's head. Obviously, he was not going to try to flip the baby with the risk of tangling it up more, so we had to book another appointment for a more in-depth ultrasound.

Tomorrow, March 4, (37 weeks gestation) at 3:00 we will be having the more in-depth ultrasound and if baby's umbilical cord is in a safe place, doctor will try to flip the little one! We are very excited (and nervous) about the upcoming procedure. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers, and hopefully we'll be able to get this one flipped and I will be able to deliver the baby!

We'll update after our appointment on Thursday. Thanks for tuning in!

Love Dougie, Jess and Baby Blob
