I have...the most amazing children in the world.
I wish...everyone could be as happy as I am.
I hate...seeing others hurt.
I fear...sharks.
I hear...my kids playing in the living room.
I search...for ways to serve.
I wonder...how many children I'll have.
I regret...eating so much junk.
I love...music. It completes me.
I ache...for those who are struggling.
I always...kiss my family goodnight.
I usually...eat some sort of junk everyday.
I am not...a crafter. To be honest, I really don't enjoy it.
I dance...at ZUMBA!
I sing...everyday. Its my favourite.
I often....feel self conscious.
I sometimes...
I cry...a lot.
I am not always...a good person.
I lose...something everytime I leave the house.
I am confused...easilty.
I need...my family and my guitar.
I should...get off here and play with my kids.

Family photos 2012

A few weeks ago we went to Henderson and got some family photos taken. I think they turned out great! I just love my kids so much and the photographer caught their little personailties! The only way we could get Nola to smile was to bring out the babies, but we didn't mind! This is such a wonderful age and stage of her life and Sesame Street is a big part of it! Robbie was being a ham, showing off his goofy teeth. I love it!

Our photographer was great! Her name is Judy Walter and she is just getting started. Her session was reasonably priced and she was great with the kids. If you are interested in her, leave a comment and I'll get you her e-mail address!

Here they are! My beautiful family. I am one lucky gal :)

10 month stat!

Weight: 17 lbs 6 oz
Diaper: 3
Clothes: 9 month shirts, 3 month pants
Teeth: 4

Favourites
FOOD - cheerios, banana baby food, rice, noodles, big boy food :)
TOY - bells, Nemo, the blinds
SONG - 'My best friend', 'Popcorn popping'
ACTIVITY - cruising, snuggling Mom, playing on Mommy and Daddy's bed, playing in blankets

Loves
- playing with his sister. He crawls after her and then all over her! Each time he sees her, he squeals with joy!
- snuggling with Mom. He is such a Mommy suck, but I don't mind! I love snuggling with this boy. Nola wasn't much of a snuggler, so it feels really good to have him nuzzle into my chest :)
- talking. This kid yammers all day long! He never stops.
- watching Nola jump on her bed. I proably shouldn't be letting it happen, but I can't bring myself to stopping them! Nola jumps and jumps, shouting 'Look at me! Look at me Robbie!' while he watches and laughs. Its darling!
- exploring the house. I never know where I am going to find the kid! Most often he is under the kitchen table or in the bathroom.
- being tickled :)

Dislikes
- getting his face wiped.
- being tired.
- getting dressed or getting his diaper changed.

What's new!
- he can clap!! He doesn't do it everytime we ask, but he does sometime.
- pee-a-boo! While driving home from Calgary, he would pull his blanket up over his face and then drop it down, flashing me a big smile! We did it for over an hour!
- he is allergic to peanuts :( He had the tiniest taste of some dessert with peanut butter in it and within seconds he was covered in hives. Poor little guy.

Mommy loves
- his snuggles. He loves to cuddle in and rest his head on my chest. I love you!
- listening to his stories. I can only imagine what he's trying to say!
- watching him sleep. Such an angel!
- chasing him! I get down on my hands and knees and crawl after him. He gets so excited he usually falls over. Its awesome!

Love you Big Boy!

Sleep

Robbie....how I wish you would sleep. I have seriously taken for granted the fact that Nola slept through the night at such a yound age. You are 10 months old boy, you do not need to wake up twice a night anymore. Oiy.

Tryin' to beat the heat

As anyone in Southern Alberta knows, it has been smokin' hot around here! We are so blessed to have air conditioning, however the kids have been getting a little stir crazy from staying indoors. Last Sunday, we blew up the baby pool, put on the sprinkler and played outside. Doug and I bought Nola a Dora sprinkler from Value Village a few months ago, and we were excited to turn it on for her. She was so excited when she saw it, but once she realized it was attached to the hose, she freaked out! So, we took off the Dora sprinkler, put on the regular sprinkler and she played in the water with the Dora sprinkler. She was so cute :)

As for Robbie, we weren't too sure how he'd like the pool. Nola wasn't a big fan when she was his age, so maybe he wouldn't be either. Yeah right! We put him down onto the lawn and he crawled right into the pool! He then sat in the water and played darn near the whole time we were outside. He was as happy as a clam.

I love days like these. They are so simple and fun. I am one lucky woman :)

Waiting for Grandma

When putting Nola down for her nap the other day, I told her that when she woke up Grandma would come for a visit. She ended up having a very short nap and Grandma wasn't due to arrive until supper time. I tried to explain that to Nola, however the kids did this for quite some time...

What can I say - we love Grandma!

Zumba! Zumba!

My Mom came to Zumba with me tonight! She had tons of fun, of course. Zumba is a real blast. It made me wonder if maybe one day Nola and I will go to a fitness class together...that would be wonderful :)

Nipples

While getting Nola dressed for bed,

Nola: 'Mommy, what are these?'
Me: 'Those are your nipples.'
Nola: 'Oh. They so cute!'

A taste of nostalgia

When AJ and I were kids, we went on the same family vacation every summer. With Uncle Bruce, Auntie Shirley, Geoff and Jodi, we'd go to Calgary for a couple nights! We'd stay at the Holiday Inn Hotel, in pool side rooms. We'd spend a day at the Calgary Zoo and we'd hit up some sort of arcades, usually Easy Street.

Of course, much has changed since then. All us kids have grown up, we've started families our own families and we have all moved in different directions. AJ and Sarah are married and living in Fernie. Geoff and Lacy are engaged, living in Sparwood with their beautiful little boy, Nathan. Jodes and Ryan are up in Golden with their three precious kids, Doug and I are here in Coalhurst, my parents are in Magrath and Auntie and Uncle are living in the Yukon. Needless to say, we don't get to see each other very often.

At the end of June, Auntie and Uncle were down visiting from the Yukon, so we decided to introduce all the grandbabies to our old ritual! We had an amazing time! The ONLY thing that could have made it better is if AJ could have been there. Poor guy had to work :( All the more reason to do it again soon!

The zoo day was so awesome. We pretty much played 'baby-swap' all day long!! That made me SO happy!! This was the first time I got to meet my darling nephew Nathan, and it warmed my heart to see Geoff and Lacy just as excited to see Nola and Robbie! Actually, it was my first time meeting Lacy too. She is pretty much amazing! From the second we saw her, we knew she was Auntie Lacy! She is so amazing with kids and is totally laid back. Seriously, she's the best. At one point, I had Robbie on my back in the Ergo and I was packing Abi in my arms. I got quite a few wierd looks! Robbie and Abi are 7 months apart. One lady came up and said, 'Aww, twi...oh. Nope. My, they sure are close!' Haha, I reassured her that they weren't both mine.

There were kids everywhere and I wouldn't have changed it for the world. I love my family, especially all my nieces and nephews. They have such a special place in my heart. I am so grateful to be an Auntie!!
