Simone and Dustin came!!!

Can you believe it?!? Simone and Dustin came out to Alberta! They were headed to Dustin's brothers house in Medicine Hat, but they made a put-stop here Sunday night.

Nola and Robbie were SO excited Adam was coming! They all played together great. Even John and Caleb played together (which is pretty awesome for two two-year-olds) Dustin and Doug visited and hung out with the kids while Simone and I cooked dinner. It was so wonderful to visit.

After we ate we got the kids to bed and the stayed up visiting. Kamo and Derek came by for a visit too!

It was so wonderful to see them again - we sure love these guys!!

Little buddies!
How cute it this?!?

Boxing day

Another wonderful day!!

We met up at the mall Nana and Papa at noon to take the kiddies to the movie! We watched 'Alvin and the chipmunks'. The movie was so cheesy and cute - perfect for a bunch of littles :) There was a commercial for Ice Age at the beginning and it was SO funny! Nola and Robbie were laughing so hard - it was adorable. The kids did great for the whole show - even John!!! As long as John was eating something, he was good to go (surprise, surprise)

After the movie we headed back to our place to get John down for a nap. We ate  some bun-wiches and cake and then made ice cream in my new ice cream maker!! I'll tell ya, that thing is slick! We made Greek yogurt, honey, vanilla and strawberries into the most DELICIOUS ice cream. I am drooling just talking about it...

While the ice cream was ripening, Papa and Doug cracked open the Wii! We all has turns playing together and it was very fun.

The weather started to turn and Mama and Papa decided to get on the road. Mom had her Bosch here, so she quickly whipped up some pizza dough before she left and then set Nola in charge of being my kitchen helper. Nola loved that, especially because she was very sad to see nana and papa leave. Nola and I made up the pizzas and we had a family picnic downstairs and watched the Chipettes.

John wanted to help too :)

Another perfect day with my perfect family. Thank you, Mama and Papa, for the best Christmas ever. I know it won't always be like this, so I am extra grateful for what we have. I love you so much!!!

Mama and I puttered around the kitchen getting things ready for Christmas dinner most of the afternoon. I did, however, get to sneak away for a bit to go sledding with our new sleds!!

My folks came over around 3 and we all visited. I am so blessed to have parents and in-laws who get along!!! We had a delicious turkey dinner with all the fixings!

After gifts mom, mama, Doug and papa cleaned up, dad played with Rob and Nola, John and I coloured. We the. Are some dessert and then dad played the guitar for us :)

The kids are now in bed. What a wonderful and successful Christmas at home. How truly fortunate and blessed I am! Merry Christmas!

Christmas morning

Our Christmas morning did not start out at all the way we planned...

At 6:45am, Nola starts screaming bloody murder from downstairs. Doug literally jumped out of bed and ran down to her. Turns out Robbie was coughing pretty hard and Nola thought he was going to puke - poor girl was terrified! We got them both up stairs and Rob was complaining of a sore throat. After drinking some water, he wanted breakfast. When he sat down to eat some yogurt, he threw all the water up. He proceeded to eat his yogurt and then cuddled into bed with Doug. Nola and I headed out to shovel our driveway, but ended up shovelling ours and the sidewalks of 8 of our neighbours. It was so wonderful!! We visited and talked about Jesus. We talked about service and how when we serve people, we serve God. It was the most perfect way to start Christmas.  When we got in, Rob has thrown up a couple more times - poor guy.

Shortly after Nana and Papa arrived and  Nola was SO ready to start opening gifts. Robbie said he didn't want to - he was looking like death - but once we got opening, he was all in!! He was happy as a pig and mud and did great for the rest of the day.

Nola handing out gifts

John was hilarious! He was biting the presents to get them open. He started unwrapping each gift this way!

I got an ice cream maker!! Can you tell I am excited?!?

We were all spoiled rotten!! The kids got some wonderful things

Nola: Dora twins, bead kit, my littlest pet shops, note book and markers

Robbie: Ninja Turtles van and characters, rescue bots, mouse trap

John: tractor trailer, Mr Potatoe Head, digger dog, monster trucks

Doug and Jess: treats, clothes, ice cream maker, books

After gifts I made breakfast - chocolate fondue with fruit and waffle sticks. Sooooo good!!

Papa kept trying to feed Robbie, but Robbie just kept licking the chocolate off of the banana! Haha!

It was the most perfect morning :)
