Grow on, Big Boy! We love you so much!

6 month stat!

Weight: 14 lbs 14 oz
Height: 25 1/2 inches
Diaper Size: 2
Clothing: 3-6 months, 6 months
Teeth: bottom 2!!

Loves:
- the jolly jumper. If he is fussy, I pop him in that and he'll jump for over an hour!
- kisses. He always gets a big smile, and sometime even gives us a little giggle, when we munch and smooch his cheeks :)
- his big sister. He loves to watch her and gets SO happy when Nola talks to him.
- Mommy and Daddy. He's kind of a suck for his parents, but we're ok with that.
- smiling. He is just so happy!!

Dislikes:
- uhhh...

Milestones:
- we got 2 teeth!! The first one was his bottom left, followed by his bottom right about a week later. If you look at the picture above, you can see them!
- eating pablum! Robbie's eating big boy food! I still can't believe it!

Mommy loves:
- our new bed time routine. After I nurse him, we have a nice snuggle and a rock in my chair. I love to look at his sweet, sleepy face. In these moments, I can't help but wonder what he is going to be like. Will he be like his sister? Or completely different? Will he like to dirtbike? Or draw? Or play com[uter games? Or music? Oh, the possibilities are endless! The world is his oyster :)
- watching him bounce! He's so funny. He get's the biggest smile and jumps like crazy, and then he stops dead in his tracks and gets a sersious look on his face. If I give him a smile or cheer him on, back comes his smile and he jumps away!
- baby wearing. I got an ERGO carrier for Robbie and I love to wear him. Sometimes, I just wear him around the house :)
- nursing. Evem though he has some teeth, it really is one of my favorite parts of having a baby.
- being together as a family. Last night, Doug and I snuggled with the kids while watching 'Follow That Bird'. We took a couple pictures and as I look at them, I relaize how unbelievably blessed I am. I love my family so much!

Robbie, I can't believe you are already half a year old! Thank you for being my little buddy. I love you so much!

So thankful for family.

I am going to spare all of you the details and just say, the past month has been beyond difficult around here. It has taken an extreme amount of effort to put one foot in front of the other, however, each day we have survived and are slwoly creeping forward.

This past week, I have been truely humbled and touched by the love of my family. Last Tuesday, my Mom took the day off of work to come to my house and watch the kids so I could nap. It helped so much, not only to get the rest, but to feel supported through this difficult time. On the weekend, we went to Medicine Hat with two very sick children. My sister-in-law, Nicole, was an angel! She helped us SO much! Nola was really sick and not too pleasant, yet Nicole sat with her and sang songs, read books and snuggled her. Nola loves her Auntie and it's obvious why. In the night time, Nola broke a high fever and was just so darn sick. Grandma and Papa Walton woke up in the night time to snuggle her and give Doug and I a break. What a gift! Today, my Mom came over and watched the kids so I could have a bath and go into town. Again, what a blessing. For those out there who do not have kids, that may sound ridiculous, but having a bath without a toddler banging on the door, screaming 'Mommy!' is a real treat.

I am humbled. How grateful I am not only for family, but for family who is willing to sacrafice to help one another out. It truely is my goal to be that kind of mother, sister, daughter, auntie, friend. You guys are the best and I am so blessed to have you in my life!

Mini photo shoot with Meg!

After Nola's birthday party, Meg took us outside and did a quick, impromptu photo shoot! As you can tell, it was windy, but we got some great shots! Thanks Meg! You are SO talented!

Photo Bomb!

Here are some of my favourite photos of the month! I love my kidlets - they are the best!

First tooth!!

Snack time! Robbie was eating a mum-mum in his high chair and Nola insisted she join him :)

So handsome!

Robbie has been making this face a lot lately. So cute!

Bubbles!!

She may be a little big, but she still loves the exersaucer!

Happy boy!

For her birthday, Nola got a DVD called 'Elmo's Potty Time'. The kid LOVES to sit on the potty now! She has yet to do anything on the potty, but it's a start!

Nola is TWO!

Nola loves:
- all things Sesame Street and all things Dora!
- to dance. We will turn on a record and she will dance for over an hour in the living room! She will put an object in the middle of the room, say the ottoman or Robbie's exersaucer, and she will dance in circles around it, usually holding Elmo. It is so darling to watch! When music come on in the mall or a restaraunt, she will dance away. She actually has amazing rhythm! She can dance better than most of her Aunties! (hehe)
- being outside. Its been wonderful to have such nice weather because Nola loves to go for walks! We haven't gone to the par yet this season, but I am sure she'll love that too!
- Chicken Fies! (chicken and fries) Whenever we get take out, Nola wants chicken and fries. She will even order! Its hilarious!
'chicken fies peas! choco miwk peas! tank too!'
- balls. She LOVES to play with balls. She has her 'little ball' and her 'big ball'. She has been sleeping with little ball lately! She is SO funny when she says 'big ball'! I don't really know how to explain it...she kind of grunts and uses a deep voice. Its hilarious!
- Shrek. Over the past month, I bet you she has watched that movie a hundred times!
- her brother. She just LOVES Robbie! She always tells me what he's doing. 'Mommy, Robbies kying (crying)' 'Mommy, Robbies seeping (sleeping)' 'Mommy, Robbies happy'. She gives him kisses all day long. This morning, she stubbed her toe and started to cry. I asked if she'd like me to kiss is better and she said, 'No. Robbie kiss it better, peas?' So sweet.
- painting. We only paint when we go to Stay and Play so it's very special to her.
- stickers! Holy smokes, this kid LOVES stickers! There are many times I'll be out and about and realize their are stickers in her hair, or I'll get her ready for the bath and there are stickers in her diaper!
- her family. Grandmas, Grandpa, Papa, Cousins, Aunties, everyone! She talks about her family all the time. Many times I hear her playing with her babies, talking about Uncle Matt and Grandma! Her family loves her very much and its very obvious :)

Nola doesn't like:
- sitting in her booster seat. Everytime I put her in it, there is a fight. She is a big girl now and she wants to sit on a big girl chair.
- naps. Sad day for Mommy :( I still put her down for quiet time each day, however she very rarely naps anymore.
- carrots and potatoes. Maybe its a texture thing, but she will pick cooked carrots and potatoes out of EVERYTHING!
- nursery. *sigh* Poor thing screams bloody murder in nursery. Hopefully she'll get the hang of it soon.

New things:
- she is starting to learn about the potty. For months, she has told me just after she has pooped. She says, 'Mommy! Poop again!' I have tried to sit her on the potty, but she has no interest in that. GG bought her an Elmo Potty DVD for her birthday and she loves it, so hopefully she'll start having more of an interest in the potty.

I love being Nola's Mom!

Pablum!

How did this happen? When did Robbie get old enough for pablum? Yeesh! Time is zooming by!

Both Doug and I were amazed when we fed him for the first time. I took many feedings for Nola to get the hang of it, but with Robbie he hit the ground running! When I fed him tonight, he ate a whole bowl with next to no mess! He's such a big boy :)

Here's my little guy having his first bites of food. Love you Robbie!

Elmo party!

Today we had Nola's birthday party! Last night she slept over at Grandma and Grandpa Sedrovics house so Doug and I could get the house ready and when she came in the door this morning, she looked at all the decorations and said, 'Elmo pahty!' She was so excited!!

We only had family come and it was perfect. Nola was so happy to be surrounded by Aunts, Uncles, Grandmas, Grandpas, cousins and her GG! Doug and I bought her a Sesame Street play tent with a tunnel and balls as her present. We had it all set up for when she came home and she loved it! Lately, she has been loving balls, so it was right up her ally.

She got so spoiled! She was blessed with everything Elmo and Dora, including lots of books and LOTS of stickers! Grandma and Grandpa Sedrovic bought her her first bicycle! Yay!

It was such a wonderful day. How grateful I am for family!

Happy birthday Nola Mae! Love you!
