Syllables!

I have been trying to get a video of this since Tuesday, and it has finally happened!

Nola is starting to use syllables!! She will say "Eye, eye, eye", "Duh, duh, duh" and "Mum, Mum, Mum" How exciting!!

Here is a video if her "talking"! (I know she is crying, it was just the only time I've caught it on camera )

Enjoy!

Yum yum!

Oh, how time flies!
Yesterday, August 22, I fed Nola rice cereal for the first time! How exciting! Its amazing how much she is growing and progressing - I love it! I have been so fortunate to be able to enjoy every little moment with her and not to wish she'd stop growing up. Sometimes, I feel like the only mom who loves seeing my girl grow. I do not feel sad at her progress - not one bit. Of course, the new-born stage was fun, but I don't necessarily miss it. I enjoyed every minute of that, now I am going to enjoy every minute of this! I want to enjoy each stage with all my heart - no looking back, no wishing, no regrets.
I am doing what Garth Algar has so wisely taught,
"Live in the now!"

Back to the cereal. Haha, she didn't know what to think! When I first put it in her mouth, she chomped down and then gave me this look like "What the?" After a few bites she got used to the texture and then she started focusing on the spoon. As mentioned many times before, Nola loves to suck, gnaw, and chew on anything and everything she can get her little hands on, and the spoon was no exception. She was more interested in the spoon than the cereal, but it was still fun!
After she ate, we went for a walk and she looked so full and tired. It was hilarious!
Here are some pictures!
Grow baby grow!!

I am not that smart. Half way through the feeding, I realized I hadn't put a bib on her. Good thing she was going to have a bath shortly after!

Yum yum!!

Baha! I love this picture! She didn't know what to think!

Its good for you baby, I promise!

I can do it myself! I am a big girl!!

Nola discovering

Ok, so this may be a bit of a boring video for some of you, but I just have to share. My sweet girl is growing. She is growing, learning and discovering with every passing minute. You can tell by the way she looks at things, the new texture she touches, the new scents she smells.

Yesterday, she was playing in the living room by herself with her book. I sat and watch for a few moments with amazement and figured I should record this so I can watch again as time passes.

So here it it, Nola Mae discovering her book, all by herself.

Enjoy.

A day with my girls

This past Wednesday, my Mom (Gramma), Nola and I went on a girls shopping trip to Calgary! It was a blast! Nola was a gem, as per usual. We shopped 'til we dropped. Man, I love my Mom.
Here are some of the pic's!

Awww :)

Of course, whats a day trip without the baby pooing all over the place?

Splish splash in the bathroom sink!

Mommy showing Nola the bubbles.

This completely melts my heart. I love these girls!

Nola and the sun - a love hate relationship.

This past weekend, Dougie, Nola and I went to the Cardston Parade with Dougie's parents, Rob and Pat. It was a pretty bright day, so we were trying to keep Nola in the shade. As we were adjusting the top of her stroller, we noticed her reaction to the sun. I think this is freakin' hilarious. Enjoy! (sorry, I recorded it the wrong way, so you'll have to crink your neck to watch)

Nola and Eva - fish outfit!

I was looking through some old photos, and I found a picture of Dougie holding our sweet little niece, Eva. Then I realized Nola was wearing the same outfit! I had to take a picture! Here are two sweet little girls - cousins, and best of friends - in a sweet little fish dress. Enjoy!

WARNING: cloth diapering is addicting

Oh man, cloth diapering is addicting. I have been spending all morning look on different websites at all the cute diapers out there! We have enough diapers - I don't need anymore, however I am so tempted to buy, buy, buy! I saw some that are cow print and zebra print - so cute!! Bah! I need to get off the computer.

We have the best family....EVER!!!

This was WAY too fun.
Next to Mama and Papa's campsite, there was this "lake". The word lake is in quotations, because it was more like a big puddle...with mud and weeds. It was kid of sketchy jumping in, but we couldn't resist. And we didn't get a rash! Bonus!
Anywho, this is what happens when Uncle Dougie, Auntie Cola and Auntie Jess get together with the kids.
Let the games begin.
The boys, getting all geared up.
Yahoo!! Here is Cola and I trying to make a big splash!
What a KILLER picture! Doug goes big, or goes home. Jaxon was jumping a little safer :)

Jaxon and Copper.
Copper was jumping too!
Bahaha!!! This will always be a favorite picture of mine. Haha, oh Cola.
True love.
Yeah Team!
(I have to mention, when Meg was going to take this picture, she said "Are you sure you guys want a picture from the angle?" Bahaha, maybe not....)

Secretan Reunion!

This past weekend, Dougie, Nola Mae and I went to Waterton for a Secretan family reunion! I got to meet some of Dougie's cousins for the first time, catch up with some I haven't seen in a while and visit with those we see often. It was wonderful.

Saturday afternoon, Mama and Papa took Nola, and Dougie and I went into the Waterton town site for a swim! Boy, it was COLD! But so much fun. I am the luckiest woman in the world - my husband is my best friend. We splashed in the water and acted like kids. There was a couple on the shore who were watching us and laughing - it warmed my heart.
<---- Here we are, just before we went into the water.
As we were walking along the shore, we found $10! Yahoo! I asked Dougie, "Whatcha wanna blow it on?" He reply, "Candy." And we did.
<--- We have a picture of us eating a watermelon laffy taffy at Six Flags in California, so we only thought it appropraite to snap another. We were both kind of choked though, cuz the taffy didn't have the black seeds on it like they used to :( Oh well, it was still super yummy!

On Saturday night, we had a potluck of Grandma Dorothy's favorties! Grandma Dorothy wrote a cook book so we each picked out an item or two to make. There were meatballs, orange twists, chili burgers, spinach dip, tarts, eatmore bars, lime surpise - the list goes on and on!! It was so delicous!

This is Karmyn and her beautiful baby girl, Kendall --->

Here are Kaylee and Kira, feeding Kira and Matts little cutie, Gabe. He is SO sweet - just like his Mama!

Dougie and I werent planning on staying the night, however it was just too fun to leave! We stayed in Mama and Papa's tent while they stayed in the trailer with Nicole and Eva. It was Nola's first time sleping in a tent and we were quite nervous, but she did great! She only woke up once, the whole night! And when woke up, she ate and went right back to sleep! Good girl! If only Dougie and I's sleep went better... There was a huge storm and we got soaked (It was a miracle Nola stayed dry)! We ended up sleeping on the ground in the corner by Nola. We were quite stiff the next morning, but all in all, the tent was a success!!

Sunday was super chill - each family went off and did there own thing. We hung at at Mama and Papa camp site, watched Rudy and went into the town site. Nola was just so sweet! She was wearing her big floppy hat and smiling up a storm! Here are some pictures of her at Cameron Falls.

I am in love with
this photo! I will be framing
this one, for sure.

She just loves her Papa!
Isn't she perfect?

We headed out after dinner Sunday night and Nola slept the whole way home. Again, what a good girl! What a wonderful way to spend a long weekend!
