One of those moments

I have been taking a one-on-one parenting class, just trying to learn as much as I can to help Nola and Robbie grow and develop, and for us to have the best relationshp possible. In my last class, the teacher asked if I have been having any issues with Nola's eating and the only thing that came to mind is that sometimes Nola gets so hungry just before dinner that she cries for a snack. A couple of times, I gave in a let her have a granola bar which in turn ruined her supper and has encouraged her to cry for what she wants. Yay....not. Anyways, the teacher suggested I have her help me before supper to keep her occupied and thats what we did tonight! She was so sweet - taking the cups, plates, and forks to the table one by one. Then helping me tear the lettuce up and put the tomatoes in the bowl. She then, ever so carefully, carried the bowls of lettuce and tomatoes to the table. It was darling to watch.

Yes, it was one of those moments. Those moments when your heart completely melts. Those moments when you feel yourself beaming with pride for your child. Those moments when you choke up a little, realizing how big they are getting, how they are not a 'baby' anymore.

I love Nola, with all my heart. She is such a gem! I am so blessed that Heavenly Father trusted me to be her mother :)

Here are a few pictures of the table she set.

Time for a change

Have you ever had your picture taken when you feel like you are looking great, then you look at it and think, "Is that really what I look like?" Well, here is my picture...

This picture was taken the day Robbie was blessed. I can't believe how big I have gotten! I know I just had a baby, but that doesn't give me an excuse to 'let go' of myself and feel gross. After seeing this picture, and a few videos of me over the Christmas holidays, I knew I needed to make a big change in my life or I would just get bigger and bigger.

Starting in the New Year, I joined Weight Watchers. I was very skeptical - I didn't think I needed to be a part of any program since I don't have a lot of weight to lose - but my mother does it, she thinks its great and I trust her. Well, it really is a great program!! I get to eat whatever I want! I am alotted 'X' amount of points per day and I decide how I want to use them. If I want to eat a lot of healthy things, or if I want to eat less, but all junk food, I can. I like that since some days this girl NEEDS her chocolate!

I am also taking some fitness classes. I take a class called Fitness Fusion on Monday mornings. The great thing about this class is that I get to bring my kids! It's a Mommy and Baby class, so I use Robbie as a weight and Nola runs around with the other toddlers. I really love it! Its good too because its HARD! Linnden, the instructor, doesn't take it easy on us, which is perfect :) I'm also taking a Kick Boxing class on Thursday nights. This class is ridiculously hard...my word. But hey, thats the point! I feel good after the class and proud that I made it through!

It has been 2 weeks since I started weight watchers and my classes and I am down 8 lbs! I am my pre-pregnancy weight and I am fitting in ALL my pre-pregnancy clothes. It feels great! I am so much happier and healthier. I'm looking forward to keeping it up and getting back to the old me.

Snow shoeing :)

Snow shoeing....well, kind of.

In true Walton fashion, it was an absolute gong show trying to get the whole family ready, out of the house, up to Waterton and ready for snow shoeing. Things were forgot, so some us us snow shoed, some cross-country skied and some just walked in their boots because the snow was packed. Even though it was cold and crazy, it was a blast!!! We went snow shoeing a lot last winter with Nola and we were so happy to do it again this year with Robbie now too!! I love the snow!!

Sick

My word, we have been some sick around here! I got the cold from hell, which developed into a sinus infection. I have never felt a pain like that before. I felt like I got kicked in the face! I was very happy to get on some anti-biotics and have some relief since I couldn't take anything over-the-cunter because I am nursing.

The horrible part? Poor little Robbie got very sick. I took him to the Dr on Tuesday, again on thursday and then into the ER on Saturday. The ER Dr. thinks, and I agree, that Robbie is asthmatic. It only makes sense, most of my side of the family is, Nola is, but it is still hard to hear. I have a feeling that he is really going to struggle with asthma and it makes me sad and scared. My brother struggled with asthma as a child and I have talked to my mom about it a lot. I can't imagine having to take your child to the hospitl on a regular basis just so they can breathe...the thought itself is heart breaking. I hope I'm wrong and that he doesn't struggle with the asthma, but I want to prepare myself the best I can if he does.

He also have RSV right now, which just adds to the problem. I am happy to report, however, that I took him to the DR yesterday and his chest sounds mch better and he's breathing easier! Yay!

I just have to mention that Doug is amazing. I am sorry ladies, but I really do have the MOST amazing husband ever. He took two and a half days off of work last week to help me and the kids. I love and appreciate him with all my heart! Even thought we've been sick, we are still so happy and blessed.

3 month stat!

- uh....
- hmmm....
- well, I guess he doesn't like to sit alone for a long time. Honestly, happiest little guy!

Mommy loves:
- lap time. He doesn't nuzzle like Nola did, he likes to stand on my lap and be a strong boy.
- giving him his bath in the evening.
- nursing him. Best. Thing. Ever.
- watching him sleep. He's such an angel.
- listening to his stories! He is a pretty vocal little guy and he tells tons of stories!

Robbie is such a special gift to our family. Love him SO much!!

More Christmas

Here are some random Christmas pictures. It was such a fun time!

Christmas morning

It finally came!!! Oh man, I was very impatient while waiting for Christmas this year. I just couldn't wait to get out of Coalhurst and down to Cardston to start the fun!

Christmas morning was perfect. We had the girls wait at the bottom of the stairs with Nicole and Doug while Pap, Grandma and I waited for the upstairs. I have made a video of them seeing their gifts from Santa, however I don't know how to upload videos on here any more, so I guess I'll just have to describe it.

I don't think Nola had any idea what was going on, but Eva did. She wouldn't stop smiling!! When the walked up the stairs, they just kind of stood there. Haha, they didn't know what to do! We directed them to their gifts, and when Nola saw all the Sesame-Street-ness waiting for her, she got pretty excited! She saw Abby and started calling out her name! If you look at the pictures, you'll see all the Sesame Street stuff Santa brought. Yes, I know...kind of ridiculos, but she loved it! It was cute watching Nola and Eva because they have such different personalities. Nola was loud and crazy while Eva sat there, like a little angel, opening each gift. Gosh, I just love those girls!!!!

So which toys topped the charts Christmas morning?? Couting crunch Cookie Monster for Nola, Alphie for Eva and Robbie's play mat, ALL of which came from Grandma and Papa!! Way to go!

Christmas Eve!

Christmas Eve was so wonderful with Nola and Eva! Eva was able to open a special present - a storybook of the night before Christmas! Nicole read the book to the girls, then we got Santa's snack together. Eva though Santa would appreciate chocolate milk instead of white and some of the snowman cookies we made earlier. It was hilarious watching the girls resist the urge to eat Santa's cookies and drink his chocolate milk. Hopefully Santa didn't mind that the cookies were nibbled on and only a half glass of chocolate milk! After we put out the treats, we hung the stocking and then went to bed. All of us adults were so excited for the kids to see what Santa brought them the next morning, I don't any of us got much sleep!
