RIP Sou-Sou

Nola has had to say good bye to a very dear friend of hers. On Monday, November 21, her beloved sou-sou was laid to rest. She has been moving on as best as she can, but like all those who mourn, she has her good days and her bad days. Nap time and nights have been most difficult, but she is a trooper and things are starting to get easier. She had a hard moment this morning as we were looking back on pictures and she was reminded of this dear friend. She cried out for him for a few minutes "Sou-sou! Oh Mommy, my Sou-sou". She was able to pull out of her sadness and took comfort in her baby and Elmo.

Sou-sou, it has been a good run. May you rest in peace.

2 month stat!

Robbie boy! I can't believe he is already 2 months old! He has been doing great. His gas is pretty much gone, he's sleeping like an angel and he smiled for the first time yesterday! I couldn't ask for anything more. Love you Big Boy!!

Big boy.

I am having a bit of a hard time expressing how I feel, so bare with me.

Robbie...he is my big boy! He is only 7 1/2 weeks and is still very much a baby, however he is physically so big, it seems like he is growing up too fast. I compare Robbie to Nola, as Nola is all that I have known, and I think that's why this has been an issue for me. She was such a little peanut! She stayed physically tiny for months and months, which was wonderful because she stayed my little baby. I have always said that I wanted a big, burly boy, and I got him! Robbie is wearing clothes that Nola wore when she was 5 months old and it makes me feel like things are going too fast.

Yesterday, Robbie officially lost his 'new-born' cry. Now, he is loud and proud! Another new-born-ism was lost yesterday - the bassinet. Robbie is too long for his bassinet and he is ready for his crib. Yikes!! I am thinking I am going to set up the play-pen in our room 'cause I am SO not ready for him to be in his own room. He's not even 8 weeks! Nola slept in the bassinet until she was 4 months. Here I go again, comparing him to Nola.

Even though he is growing quickly, I have been so blessed as I have really been able to enjoy him. I was scared that I wouldn't have the time or ability to really bond with him Robbie, that's I would be too busy. I have loved every little snuggle with my big boy.

Robbie, Mommy loves you!

Life with Robbie

My little Robbie boy. Oh, how I love him! Life with Robbie has been very rewarding. He has been a very different baby than Nola was, which has taken a little getting used to. Nola was the easiest baby ever....I mean, ever. All she did was eat and sleep. I would have to strip her down to her diaper to nurse, just so she would wake up! Robbie has been an alert little guy from day one. My mom was so excited in the hospital after he was born because she could see his eyes! My parents had to wait nearly 3 weeks to see Nola with her eyes open. With him being alert, we get to interact alot more, which is so wonderful! He is one strong baby too! My goodness! He has been holding his head up for weeks!

One of the challenges with Robbie is gas. The poor little man, he gets horrible gas. I haven't been able to figure out what exactly has been causing it. I can tell that he doesn't like it when I eat anything with spice on it, but I also think it may be the way he is nursing. I have an appointment next week with a lactation consultant to get some help and hopefully ease some of his (and my) pain.

Here are a couple of pic's of him that I have been loving! He really is perfect and he makes me so happy. How I love my children :)

"Tick-o-teat!"

Nola had her first experience Trick-or-Treating this year. I wasn't too sure how she would feel about it. I figured she wouldn't be all that interested, but boy was I wrong! We went down to Cardston to Trick-or-Treat with Colie and Eva and I really think Eva got Nola hyped up for the evening! The girls were so cute in their costumes! Eva was dressed up at Strawberry Shortcake, Nola was Abby Cadabby and Robbie was Elmo. Robbie stayed home with Grandma while Nicole, Drue, Doug, the girls and I went out. We just went down the street, however it was plenty for the girls. They were so sweet, holding hands and walking door to door. At some doors, I could see Nola trying to walk right into the persons house! Good thing she is young and cute! Both Colie and I had our cameras and were taking a bunch of pictures, all of which we prompted the girls to say "cheese"! Well, Nola went running with it! All night, whenever a camera would flash, she would give us a huge smile and a big long "cheeeeeeeeese!" It was too cute.
