Christmas morning

Our Christmas morning did not start out at all the way we planned...

At 6:45am, Nola starts screaming bloody murder from downstairs. Doug literally jumped out of bed and ran down to her. Turns out Robbie was coughing pretty hard and Nola thought he was going to puke - poor girl was terrified! We got them both up stairs and Rob was complaining of a sore throat. After drinking some water, he wanted breakfast. When he sat down to eat some yogurt, he threw all the water up. He proceeded to eat his yogurt and then cuddled into bed with Doug. Nola and I headed out to shovel our driveway, but ended up shovelling ours and the sidewalks of 8 of our neighbours. It was so wonderful!! We visited and talked about Jesus. We talked about service and how when we serve people, we serve God. It was the most perfect way to start Christmas.  When we got in, Rob has thrown up a couple more times - poor guy.

Shortly after Nana and Papa arrived and  Nola was SO ready to start opening gifts. Robbie said he didn't want to - he was looking like death - but once we got opening, he was all in!! He was happy as a pig and mud and did great for the rest of the day.

Nola handing out gifts

John was hilarious! He was biting the presents to get them open. He started unwrapping each gift this way!

I got an ice cream maker!! Can you tell I am excited?!?

We were all spoiled rotten!! The kids got some wonderful things

Nola: Dora twins, bead kit, my littlest pet shops, note book and markers

Robbie: Ninja Turtles van and characters, rescue bots, mouse trap

John: tractor trailer, Mr Potatoe Head, digger dog, monster trucks

Doug and Jess: treats, clothes, ice cream maker, books

After gifts I made breakfast - chocolate fondue with fruit and waffle sticks. Sooooo good!!

Papa kept trying to feed Robbie, but Robbie just kept licking the chocolate off of the banana! Haha!

It was the most perfect morning :)

  1. Glad Robbie started feeling better. Poor kid. I think Doug didn't get the memo that staying in your p.j's on Christmas morning is a must :)
