Chocolates!!!

On Remembrance Day, we headed to Cardston for chocolate making. It was wonderful - the kids made some Remembrance Day crafts, we read a Remembrance Day story and then Mama talked about her father, Great Grandpa Louis who was in the war. Remembrance Day was and is very important to my family, so I am very glad we were able to make time honour it.

After Remembrance Day observance, we got right into the chocolate! We made tons! Mama makes all the fondant, then all us kids and grandkids melt, roll, dip (and taste) the chocolates. It's lots of work, but so fun!! It's wonderful now that the May kids are getting older - we just visit!! Ami was a babysitting all-star! She took the kids to play in the snow in the yard and kept them down stairs while we dealt with the nuts.

We also gave out white elephant gifts, which were hilarious! Doug came home with an assortment of canded meats, John got some motion sensors and night lights, Nola got farting bunny slippers, Rob got an elephant hat and I got a hand on a stick. Random and fantastic.

It was a great day!

Ain't Jax so pretty?!

Nola and Eva drew on Ami's face while she was sleeping.
Eva drew on herself because she thought it was beautiful. She actually got pretty sad when everyone laughed at her because she really thought it was beautiful! Haha.
