John - 2 years old

John loves
- motorbikes. He can correctly identify a street bike or a dirt bike, and tell you who in our family rides one. He often goes to sleep at night with his baby and either a motor bike or a....
- monster trucks. He just loves them!! I can just hear his little voice as I type this...'monster trucks!!'
- cheese. Nearly every morning he wakes he says 'Mom, 'ungry. Cheese string peas?' If he had it his way, he'd have cheese at breakfast, lunch and dinner! Luckily, he'll eat anything else under the sun, so I can fill him with fruit and veg so he doesn't get backed up for all the cheese.
- forts. Doug loves to build forts with the kids, and the kids love it just as much! 'Build a fort, mom? Peas?'
- books. His favourites right now are 'muddy puppy', 'shrek', 'violets house', 'toy story searh and find' and a monsters university one we got out from the library. He packs the books around all over the place and asks 'read it? Peas?' I can resist!!
- snuggles. 'E spuggle ban-ket?' That's how he asks to snuggle in a blanket, usually the Indian one off my upstairs couch. I love these snuggles!!
- his snuggle blankets. Nana and Papa got all three kids soft minky blankets, however John has adopted everyone of them!! He can't sleep without at least one of them.
- dinosaur train. He asks me to sing him the dinosaur train theme song every night before bed, and often says 'dinosaur say Rawr!!'

John does not love
- getting his hands and face wiped after eating.
- going to bed if not tired.

John-isms
- he's a savage. John will attack any and all children his size or smaller. It's been a pretty difficult stage, I am not going to lie...
- our ever loyal finger sucker. When he sucks his fingers, he rubs his top lip and checks with his other hand. Its adorable.
- blowing bubbles. 9/10 times you give him a cup of water, he will blow bubbles in it.
- 'scuba bus', which means school bus.
- 'good night kitty'. John loves playin kitties right now, and everytime I put him down to bed, he meows and says 'good night kitty'.
- he LOVES brussle sprouts. He kept asking for more 'sauce', so I repeted to him 'brussle sprouts, Brussle sprouts'. He would then say 'brussle sauce.' It was hilarious.

Mommy loves
- everything! I know that sounds so typical, but I do! I love his soft blonde hair and big blue eyes, his sweet little voice while singing and his loud dinosaur 'rawr!'s', his pouty lip when get cries, his funny toddler language, his cuddles before bed, the way he says 'tank tou, mum', the Eskimo kisses, chasing him through the house, the constant stream of slobber dripping down his chin (and chest, for that matter), his smile and happy countenance. He really is such a happy little boy!

I am in love with you John, totally and completely. Grow on, little nugget! We love you!!

  1. So funny he has taken all the minky blankets. But can't blame him. :)
